COMPETITIVE TENNIS

Academy’s competitive tennis stream is ideal for juniors and adults actively seeking competition on provincial, regional, national, and international tours. This coaching stream may also be appropriate for players preparing for college, university and high school try-outs. Competitive level players may choose from private lessons with or without fitness to on-tour coaching.  In the past, Academy’s competitive tennis program stream has helped players move on to tennis scholarships at Quincy University, Quincy, Illinois and Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pennsylvania. Academy’s competitive tennis lessons are based on the ITF and Tennis Canada guidelines and they consist of high performance drills and/or video analysis. High intensity drills are a must of this program and participants are expected to perform at high levels of play displaying athleticism at all times (during skill acquisition and match play).

Private Lessons

Competitive players have two options within the private lessons offered. They can choose to do private lessons with or without the tennis specific fitness training. While on court tennis skills are essential to one’s success as a competitor, one’s fitness level may be more important.  It is highly recommended that all competitors make an effort in addition to their tennis training to actively train and improve their fitness level and exercises appropriate for the sport.

• Private Lesson with Fitness (1.5 hrs): $50.00  
• Private Lesson without Fitness (1 hr): $35.00
• Semi-Private Lesson with Fitness (1.5 hrs): $30.00 per player
• Semi-Private Lesson without Fitness (1 hr): $20.00 per player
• Group of 3 Private Lesson with Fitness (1.5 hrs): $20.00 per player
• Group of 3 Private Lesson without Fitness (1 hr): $15.00 per player
• Group of 4 Private Lesson with Fitness (1.5 hrs): $15.00 per player
• Group of 4 Private Lesson without Fitness (1 hr): $12.50 per player

Touring Coach

Competitive players who are actively competing on the circuit or starting out their competition can opt to hire a touring coach.  Contract between player and coach will be established outlining expectations. This is ideal for those players who would like to gain more competition playing experience. Match play video analysis may occur during this type of coaching.

Avg. Coaching Fee: $50.00 per day + mileage
